What do you do in the company and who are the figures you interact with the most?
My main focus is undoubtedly the technical one because my training was primarily technical and management. Over the last five years I have also been responsible for administrative management and constant dialogue with the purchasing office. Every company figure is important and, thanks to the connection with the various departments, we will now launch the new management system which will take care of connecting the administration, the technical part, the production part and clearly the commercial part.
What was your path until you also coordinated the communication part?
I studied as a mechanical expert, then I completely changed by doing the ISEF and starting the work phase at Modine in the industrial refrigeration sector. The most formative moment, however, occurred at Danieli where I worked for 7 years managing the company's technical offices also abroad. I later joined Instalmec as a project manager. In the following years I learned various skills thanks to which I outlined my role as CEO in Instalmec, also coordinating brand communication.
Which social network wouldn't work for your business model?
Leaving aside the new media that deviate from our business model, the most functional social network is LinkedIn. Instalmec works closely with plant managers because, not having a real marketing process towards the customer, the only professional platform that maintains quality is the one linked to the working scenario.
Given that now if a company is not present on social media it is as if it does not exist on the market, which platforms are you aiming for?
We have always placed a lot of emphasis on LinkedIn when it comes to recruiting: this social network has given us great satisfaction in terms of the entire recruiting aspect. I am clearly referring to the part of the offices and the entire managerial area because people looking for a job in production are difficult to search for online as they do not use tools like LinkedIn but rather rely on agencies.
Word of mouth has now moved online and every brand has learned the fact that with the generational change, customers/partners and suppliers use digital media. How will you manage the channels? Internally or through external professionals?
We prefer internal management and in the past we have relied on external professionals, however the result was not satisfactory. Having an internal office for marketing is not part of our mission and outsourcing all the parts that deal with the creation of content for social media is a huge commitment when compared to our type of company. In the brand's vision there is the thought of creating an internal unit capable of dealing with all aspects of communication both offline and online.
What are your future projects in the communications field?
Currently all the company's energies are absorbed by a large application project which will be called Instalmap. We are therefore developing systems that go beyond the production ones and which will allow our customers to identify each machine in the plant via the website, smartphone or tablet. The app will track all users, maintenance and operational actions of people, reporting an overall general history via server thanks to which we will be able to see the breakdown of the activities and interactions of the entire market.
